I'm back! And first order of business (after sleeping for twelve hours and classes) was to start building my fit for the Renaissance Fair. I told a bunch of my friends that I was going thrifting after school if anyone wanted to come with, and a bunch of girls did!
Thrifting gang--Addie, Devyn (who is new to the blog! She is in our classes but not our program), Larissa, me, Jisenia, Bernadette. (Humana is like the Spain version of Goodwill there's a ton of them everywhere.)
First stop was this store. I went there a week or two ago, whenever I went thrifting with my friend from my cultural anthropology class. I remembered that this store had corsets (which is like compulsory Ren Fair attire) and that there were a ton of other stores on this street, so I figured it was a good place to start. And it's on Jisenia's and Addie's street, so that was nice for them. They live in such a cool area.
I got a corset at that store (I'm not going to spoil the look and post it on the blog before the Ren Fair, but the critics (Jack, Emily, Tess, Jillian, my mommy, Susana's daughter Sofía, Susana) are saying I ate. Honestly I agree. Everyone get excited for the Ren Fair.). I also got a belt that Larissa picked for me that she said was giving "pirate wench"--she gets me fr fr. Then we went to Humana and I got a shirt to go under the corset. The vision is coming together... just the skirt left...
Then we were parched, so we went to this smoothie place down the street. They also had these popsicles--Dombrowskis, these are giving Lolly's Pops. Larissa got a strawberry and coconut one and it looked good. I didn't get one today but I will next time I go.
I got this mango+pineapple+orange smoothie. It was sooo good. My only complaint is that this was the biggest size. I need Spain to get Route 44s fr.
Here is me and Jisenia--she got the same smoothie, of course. We are the same.
Then after that, we kinda dispersed for the evening. Larissa moved to another house on Saturday. She was just with Susana for that first week because her original host mom had to drop out at the last minute because of her health (again, get well soon Fina). So Larissa moved to her permanent house on Saturday--saddies, I will miss her. But Larissa's new house is super close to mine, probably less than a ten minute walk, and we use the same metro station (we went to school together today). So Bernadette left in the other direction, and Larissa and I stopped at a store on the way home, and then everyone else went with us in. And then BeReal went off, so here's those.
Then tonight Susana's daughter Sofía came over and I finally met her! She is sooo cool. I'm obsessed with her. She was so nice to me. We talked for awhile.
Overall I had an amazing day. I was in such a good mood. I've been happy every day that I've been here, but also tired every day that I've been here. But, as previously stated, I slept for twelve hours last night, and it was euphoric. It was like my mind, heart, spirit, and body aligned today and I was deliriously happy. I had every intention of keeping that going, getting a good night's sleep tonight too, but it's past 1AM and I have to be up at 6:30AM, so my well-rested era is already over. Which is okay, we are living life.
Woot woot for "living life"! Sooo glad to see you are soaking up each each and every moment! And I agree about the necessity of Route 44s;)
