Went to the opera tonight!!! I've been waiting for this one... turn it up. It was sooo good. It was Orphée. It was French (not a language I have any fondness for) and modern, so I was unsure what to expect, but I knew I'd probably like anything. As Ryan says, there are no bad experiences. But it was really good! It was bizarre and beautiful, hilarious but in a weird way, scary (je suis baby though so anyone else would probably not say this), sad. It was very very very cool. I will be going to every future opera. Here's the show link for some info for those interested: https://www.teatroreal.es/en/show/orphee
Pre-opera selfie! Carson and Jason in the back; me, Alexia, Lauren, and Izzy in the middle row; Bernadette in front of Lauren and Izzy.
In our row before the opera! Alexia, me, Carson, Alondra, Lauren, Jason. Featuring Izzy in the distance because her seat wasn't in our row for some reason. Neither was Elsa's, but I have no clue where she ended up.
Post opera selfie! Not really sure what rows to form to name us by, but here's Jason, Carson, Bernadette, me, Alexia, Lauren, Alondra, Elsa, Izzy.
Also, Elizabeth in Madrid will be taking a brief hiatus for the next couple days as I become Elizabeth in Morocco! Be back in a few :)
Neat experience!
I don’t remember saying that but I guess it‘s sorta true sometimes? Anyways, mainly commenting bc this reminded me of What’s Opera Doc and prompted me to re-watch.
