On Thursday I had a pretty normal, chill day. I had class in the morning and the afternoon free. Then I had English "class." The main event of the day was the WIP spring orientation. Larissa, Jisenia, and I will be here in the spring, but we did not need to be oriented because we are already here and oriented. But they asked us to come anyway so we could answer any questions and talk about our experiences so far. We decided to hang out, get a pizza and snacks, and do it together.
Time to BeReal!
The meeting was fine. We didn't really get to meet/know any of the kids coming next semester because there wasn't any time or opportunity for anyone to talk, except that after each slide/thing that they went over they would ask me and Jisenia and Larissa to chime in. But we already know each other obvs.
There's more kids coming next semester--I think there'll be around 30, maybe more of us. This semester we have 20. I'm sure everyone next semester will be great, but they have big sheos to fill. I love our current group so much. I realized like three weeks in how much I was going to miss all the people leaving next semester, so it's kinda saddies that that reality is approaching. I'm so glad Larissa and Jisenia will still be here, I would be extra saddies if it was just me left behind. And my IUHPFL roommate from Oviedo is coming next semester!!! Rose! We love Rose. There's also a linguistics major coming! Finally. I miss my IU linguistics friends so much, I'm excited to have someone to talk to about linguistics every day. (My current friends here are doing a really good job of tolerating all my breakdowns that they don't follow/care about, so shoutout to them, but I'm excited for someone who can match my energy.) We made a GroupMe after the orientation and everyone sent a little introduction, and they all seem really nice :) A lot of International Studies-ish and Spanish majors and people excited to do the same stuff in Spain that I'm into.
