My family left this morningš»š»š» Saddies. I did not see them off because I was sleeping in after Liam and I clubbed the night before. Then I spent most of 10AM--4PM trying to figure out how to get last minute youth tickets to the New York City Ballet at 5PM. I have the process down pat for the opera, but this is my first ballet. For the opera, the last minute tickets drop at 4PM and then the show is at 7PM/8PM; since the ballet was at 5PM, I didn't know what the time of the drop would be. I went to the theatre to ask at 2PM or 3PM since it's only a metro stop away, and it ended up being also 4PM, which is crazy, but whatever. Me and Jisenia and Alana got tickets and made it in time.
It was super cool. I'll add the program below that describe the dances better than I could. The Sparknotes though is that the first one was a dramatic piece, the most stereotypical/closest to what I would think of as traditional ballet. The second one was a cuties squaredance-inspired one. The last one was contemporary and about America. I can't pick a favorite because they were all so different and I liked them for different reasons. The costumes for the first two were also stunning.
Afterwards we went to eat dinner at this vegan restaurant Rose and I went to after the opera last week. I got the same thing I got last time; it was just as good. Last time we sat in the front room and didn't see that there was a back room. We sat in the back room this time and saw this interesting decor choice.
My phone died at the ballet so I took this picture of my food with Jisenia's phone and then she sent it to me, thanks Jisenia.
