Elizabeth in Vienna!!!

I went to Vienna last weekend with Addie, Lauren, and Jisenia! It was so amazing, I had a great time. We saw and did so much in two days. And it was so fun to do it together :)

Here is us in the airport Saturday morning! (Lauren, Jisenia, Addie, me.)

First order of business was walking to get food--I took these two pictures on the way.

Vegetarian sausage. (Addie was mosly in charge of restaurants and made a list with all the restaurants and only picked placed with vegetarian options, which was so nice <3<3<3 I was like "It's fine I'll figure it our you guys don't have to worry about my nonsense." And she was like, "You're our friend? We'll go places you can go?" And Eastern Europe is not a great place to be vegetarian but the food was wayyy better than I was expecting.) This was so good, Jisenia and I got another one and split it.

The two guys working at this restaurant were so nice and funny and talked to us a lot. Lauren forgot her jacket here and Jisenia messaged the restaurant on Instagram to get it back and they responded with a picture with the kid (Felix) wearing it. It was a funny convo. I know that it's not going to be funny to anyone reading this but I'm adding it so I remember.

Then we went to our hostel and dropped our stuff off. This is the street our hostel was on, it was so pretty. There was also a market we walked through.

Then we went to the Prater, which is this amusement park in Vienna. Kinda random that they have an amusement park right by the center of town but it was cool.

We walked around and then we went on the ferris wheel!

Time to BeReal!

Different ferris wheel than the one we went on.

We went on a scary ride oooOOoOooOOO. Addie and I rode together and held hands the entire time and I was being a mega baby. At the end the guy running the ride jumped out with a broom and I screamed and he said, "Sorry. Sorry sorry sorry." It was funny. It's okay bro you were just doing your job.

After the Prater we searched desperately for pretzels. We were unsuccessful. Everywhere was closed. It was literally only 11PM too (in Spain that's like 6PM). But it was still fun because we walked all over the city and saw the sights. Here's some bad pictures of the opera house because I didn't take a single one of the outside of the building when I went to the opera the next day--silly.

Franz Josef's name was on EVERYTHING here... he went off.

The sign in our hostel. It made me laugh.

Sunday we started our day by going to the Schönbrunn Palace! This was a banger. You already know... I love a palace.

No pictures in the palace--rigged. I took this one though, sorry Palace. It was super cool inside. Top three palaces. The audioguide was really anti-Empress Elisabeth though, which was funny because she is still everywhere and an icon and it seems like everyone loves her. It's been really interesting to go to these palaces/churches etc and see how they're being presented now. Also it's so crazy that a hundred years ago people were running empires in these rooms and now there's just some tourists shuffling through them.

After, we went back to the center of Vienna and got lunch. (Wiener dog sign on the way heehee. "Vienna" in German is "Wien.")

Lunch place.

Pretzels finally.

Then we walked/took the tram around. Hofburg Palace (which is giant and the next three buildings).

The National Library is in here.

I took this video on the tram. I thought it'd be cooler, the tram went slower than I thought. But check out the opera in the beginning.

Belvedere Palace.

Hundertwasserhaus.

More pretzels🙏

That night I went to the opera!!! I think I learned in high school or something forever ago that the Vienna opera is the best in the world and super famous, and I've wanted to go since then. Everyone else passed, so I just went by myself. It was awesome. I saw L'elisir d'amore (The Elixir of Love). It was a comedy (spoiler alert: the elixir of love was wine). The opera house was sooo beautiful.

I was in a little BOX. With other randos but it felt sooo opera. I was just in a row at the last opera I went to. This was more fun.

The Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra. Yas. They slayed.

Afterwards I met up with my friends, who were out for drinks. They saved me some pizza <3<3<3

And then we got two more pizzas. They were good.

Then we woke up the next morning and went to Prague!
